Tool. Agent. Assistant. Companion. Co-founder.

You may know each word alone. A tool can be a hammer. An agent can sell houses. A friend is a person you like. A founder starts a company. Then you see the words on an AI page, and the meaning changes.

I teach English learners to slow down at this point. Do not click because the page sounds modern. Read the word. Ask what the word means on that page. Then decide what you can safely do next.

This guide teaches AI tools English vocabulary for A2 learners. You will compare 3 common page types: an AI co-founder tool, an AI agent, and an AI chat friend. You will learn short meanings, real A2 sentences, and questions you can use before you sign up.

AI Co-Founder

A founder is a person who starts a company. A co-founder is a person who starts a company with another person.

In AI product English, the phrase AI co-founder often means software that helps a founder think, plan, write, research, or organize work. The safe A2 meaning is:

An AI co-founder tool helps with founder tasks. A real founder still makes the decision.

A page such as AI Co-Founder is a good reading example because the website name uses a business word. Read the word co-founder carefully. In normal business English, a co-founder is a real person. On an AI page, the phrase usually points to software help.

An agent is a person or system that acts for someone.

Google Cloud’s generative AI glossary also describes AI agents as applications that process input, reason with tools, and take actions.

That sounds big. Here is the A2 meaning:

An AI agent is software that can follow a goal, choose steps, and do some work for you.

Agent Vs Assistant

Learners often mix assistant and agent. The words are close, and many websites use them in different ways. Use this easy difference:

An agent may check a list, write 3 emails, and send them after you say yes.

The word approve means “say yes.” It is a useful online word.

AI Chat Friend

A chat is a written conversation online. A chatbot is software that talks with a user by text or voice. The Stanford Medicine AI glossary explains a chatbot as a software app or web page that copies conversation through text or voice. The Council of Europe AI glossary also uses the term conversational agent for a system that dialogues with a user.

A friend is a person you like and trust. A chat friend on an AI website means a chatbot with friendly conversation.
